Infini unveils new eco-packaging fragrance concept

France-based industry organisation Infini has worked with its eight member group to create a cutting-edge eco-packaged fragrance product concept, Infini Or.

The concept has been developed by the group members -Mane, M-real, Rexam, SGD, Strand Cosmetics Europe, Sylvie de France Designer, VPI and Waters - to demonstrate the latest eco solution, underlining an essential combination of sustainability and innovation.

Building on the organisation’s two previous eco concepts – Naya and Emoi Infini – Infini Or combines a 100 percent natural fragrance formulation with packaging parts that have been designed to fulfill both eco-friendly and aesthetic requirements.

The fragrance was created by Man, and is said to combine a floral, fruity aroma with notes of vanilla and almond, a combination that would undoubtedly position it at the premium end of the market.

Ecocert certification puts the seal on the concept

The formulation itself was very carefully put together by Strand Cosmetics Europe, which was also responsible for securing the all-important Ecocert certification, assuring the fragrance complies with natural and organic certification standards.

Moving on to the actual packaging, the Verre Infini Tango flacon was supplied by SGD, which is made from a recycled glass, which is sourced from household waste, while the pump – an essential part of fragrance packaging – is from Rexam’s Néa range.

The closure is supplied by VPI, and is made from sustainable and PEFC certified R’PET, a material that contributes to a claimed ten percent reduction in weight when compared to other conventional packaging materials.

Finally a digital printing technology for the glass, which is eco-certified was provided by Wauters, while the actual packaging design concept was created by Sylvie de France Designer, around the concept of being luxurious, while minimalising on use of materials.

Building on the Naya and Emoi Infini concepts

The organisation’s previous concept, Emoi Infini, was showcased at last year’s Luxe Pack show in Monaco and the PCD show in Paris, and followed Naya, a similar project showcased at the previous year’s shows to create an eco-designed face cream.

The Emoi project created a box set of fragrances designed to completely integrate the eco-friendly approach so that it is no longer a constraint, but rather an integral part of the design.

The three fragrances for men, women and children, Elle, Moi and Lui, were designed by the fragrance and flavour group Mane using certified natural ingredients, and produced by contract manufacturer Strand Cosmetics Europe.
