The 56th Oscar de l’emballage ceremony took place in Paris on 29 November 2011, at the Museum of Fairground Arts where winners for packaging innovation were announced. Across the many industries present and awarded, Solev was the only winner from the cosmetics industry.
Dual success
The cosmetics packaging company won two awards; one in the glass category for the vacuum metallization with a gradient effect for the decor of the fragrance Acqua di Gioia Essenza by Armani; and one in the luxury non-food consumption category once again for the décor of the fragrance.
Mathieu Pivaudran, Industrial Creations director for Solev, Pochet Group, on receiving the award commented, "the close cooperation of all the teams involved in this project [has culminated] in the recognition and loyalty of the Armani brand."
According to Solev, the fragrance is supposed to resemble a metallic mirage. The décor consists of using a vacuum metallization process on the glass to give the impression of metal by using screen printing.
Across the board
A total of 14 winners were awarded 12 Oscars across five categories including production, consumption, environment, materials and promising start.
The jury for the awards consisted of professionals from the sector as well as journalists who studied 90 cases.
The trophy itself was designed by Evian in the form of a bottle of mineral water personalised for each winner.
