Quadpack opens new testing facility to provide increased level of quality

Global cosmetics packaging supplier Quadpack has opened a new testing facility in Barcelona to provide an added level of quality assurance to its personal care packaging before they reach customers.

Quality control tends to be the province of manufacturers,” explained Javier Navia, Quadpack Group technical manager.

The new laboratory adds a further level of quality assurance not usually undertaken by procurement companies.”

Additional testing step

An additional step in the testing phase and supply chain, Quadpack claims the new laboratory gives it greater control over product testing of its cosmetic and personal care packaging for skin care, make-up and perfumes.

“First, the sample is tested at the Quadpack lab; second, tests are conducted before mass production, then during random stages of production; and, lastly, the product is given a final test before delivery”, a company spokesperson told CosmeticsDesign- Europe.

Additionally, in-house testing saves time, the company has stated. It provides immediate results from testing, a faster development cycle and consequently more control and efficiency.

Product compatibility and performance testing has also been integrated into the development cycle with the aim of decreasing delays, in turn enabling faster marketing of the product.

Central testing facility

The new facility will carry out quality control testing for the Quadpack group worldwide.

When we get our hands on a pack, we submit it to the strictest of tests. Only when it passes every single one do we certify it ‘Quadpack approved’,” said Andrés Piera, the packaging engineer in charge of the laboratory.
