Largest ever Labelexpo opens doors to raft of new innovations

Labelexpo opens its doors in Brussels, Belgium today, claiming to be the largest show to date, in turn showcasing an unprecedented level of new innovations.

The three-day show is spread over six halls at the Brussels Expo and features the second edition of the Digital Print Workshops, first introduced at Pack Expo Americas last year and now being rolled out in Europe for the first time.

The workshops will feature technologies by Xeikon, HP and EFI Jetrion and will be divided into four sessions, each demonstrating how the technologies work within different product categories, including personal care, while the fourth session will allow visitors themselves to get involved in the printing process.

The show will contain another first, the Package Printing Zone, which will consists of a series of seminars demonstrating the most up-to-date machinery in this category, with a particular emphasis on short-run package printing.

Seminars and workshops are free to attend

According to the organisors, both the Package Printing Zone seminars and the Digital Print Workshops will be free to attend and open to all visitors.

“The Technology Workshops is our most popular feature ever and will allow visitors to evaluate the different printing technologies in detail,” said Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director.

“Similarly the Package Printing Zone will demonstrate how converters can expand their business beyond labels, often using the same equipment,” he added.

The organisors have also put together a comprehensive programme of press conferences, over the course of the three days, which will be given at the event Press Office, as well as on individual stands.

Conferences highlighted by keynote on self-adhesive labels

Today the conferencing kicked off with a keynote presentation highlighting the value of self-adhesive labels as well as underlining some of the key trends that are currently driving the labels segment as a whole.

Other presentations during the course of the three days will be given by all the key players, including Kodak, EFI, HP, Avery Dennison, Erdhardt & Leimer, Omet and the Flint Group.

There will also be a comprehensive range of new product launches at the show, including H.B. Fuller’s latest label and tape adhesives, the Flexcell NX Plate System from Kodak and UV printing inks and varnishes from Zeller + Gmellin.
