The packaging has been designed for both testing products as well as for on-the-go use, and incorporates a capsule dispensing system that is said to combine the ease and accessibility of a jar with the flexibility and portability of a sachet.
The product has primarily been designed around the high demand for testing and sampling packaging, which plays a very important part in the cosmetics and personal care segment, particularly for upmarket skin care and fragrances.
The launch of the packaging and the business agreement is the result of a project that has combined the design and manufacturing capabilities of both companies in different areas.
Patented resealable mini-pack
The Cosm’in uses the patented resealable mini-pack developed by Aptar Beauty + Home, which is combined with the sachet production and manufacturing capabilities provided by Bioplan.
Targeting the on-the go market, the packaging is likely to be marketed as either a mini sales product or a travel product, the companies claim, tying in with increasing demand for products that can be adapted to the mobile consumer, whether it be travel, work or leisure activities.
Adapting to the increasing trend for functionality in sample packaging, Cosm’in has been designed to deliver cream to the centre of the capsule by simple pressure on the sachet. Likewise, the base of the capsule is transparent, permitting consumers to see what is left in the sachet.
Promotional and sampling functions
The design also targets a wide range of promotional and sampling functions within the liquids and creams category, including products such as daily use skin care or even colour cosmetic products such as liquid foundation.
Likewise, the packaging also benefits from a larger printable surface area, which makes for increased opportunity to promote and brand the product, as well as providing instructions for use or a more detailed product message.
The packaging comes in a range of formats, including square, rectangular and with or without a European in volume sizes from 3ml to 20ml, while the labelling can include up to 9 colours as well as embossing and matte or shiny effects.
