Italian company Indena and German-based Dr Straetmans are both manufacturers of sustainable ingredients, and Beraca’s decision to partner with the duo emerged from similar business philosophies and strategic operational lines.
"Both Dr. Straetmans and Indena are committed to manufacturing and distributing natural, effective, and high quality products in agreement with sustainable practices," said Filipe Sabará, business director at Beraca.
According to Sabará, Dr. Straetmans started distributing Beraca's products in Germany and Austria about a year ago and the partnership has been yielding strong results.
Now Beraca chose to bring the same synergy to the Brazilian market, which recorded a growth of over 12 per cent in 2010.
Perfect portfolio harmony
Head of sales and technical marketing at Dr. Straetmans, Fernando Ibarra mirrored Beraca’s sentiments stating that both company’s portfolios were perfectly aligned.
"While Beraca offers a range of natural and organic active ingredients from the Brazilian biodiversity, Dr. Straetmans presents multifunctional additives, ingredients for alternative preservation, emulsifiers, surfactants, and hair care components developed with an emphasis on the natural products market", he explained.
Ibarra believes that the excellent positioning of Beraca in the domestic market for raw materials will be determinant to the success of Dr. Straetmans in Brazil.
Speaking of the Milan-based ingredients manufacturer, Indena, Sabará explained that it is specialised in the development of botanical active ingredients for the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, and food industry.
"Its success is mainly attributed to investments in R&D, which involves mapping of medicinal plants, identification of new ingredients and development of extraction and purification methods in industrial processes", he said.
In addition to the two new partners, Beraca also carries the exclusive distribution of products from France-based company Greentech and the German Henry Lamotte in Brazil.
