Further acqusitions made by the Pochet Group leading to expansion

France-based Pochet has expanded further with the recent acquisitions of Lisi cosmetics, and Solev, to reinforce the company’s global position in the packaging market.

Pochet, producer of bottles for use in perfumery and cosmetics, acquired Lisi cosmetics, which has now been renamed Qualicosmetics, earlier in the year.

Qualicosmetics offers the Pochet group expertise in the conversion and decoration of aluminium, plastic injection and metal stamping.

Solev, on the other hand, was acquired just recently; Solev offers knowledge in the field of decoration, metallization on glass and plastic in particular, as well as innovative finishing methods such as laser decoration and lacquering.

Both Qualicosmetics and Solev have plants in France. The former has three plants in different areas of France, employing approximately 500 people; Solev has a site at Martel in the Lot region of France, but also has a site in Sao Paulo, Brazil, collectively employing around 450 people.

The acquisitions will help to reinforce the company’s position globally in the packaging market for perfume and cosmetics, states Irene Gosset, president of Pochet group’s board of directors; “Our acquisition of Qualicosmetics and Solev completes our technological expertise, thus enabling us to offer our clients a comprehensive service and strengthen our international presence.”

The company now claims to be able to offer its clients with a more comprehensive service, which includes bottles; glass or plastic jars; stoppers combining plastic and metal; make-up compacts; and accessories.

Pochet has said the organisational structure is evolving in order to adapt to the growth of the company, following the acquisitions, and to be able to strengthen the synergies between its two key activities; glass, which is produced by Pochet, and plastic and metal, which is produced by Qualipac’s various subsidiaries.

Claiming a revenue of €500 million per annum and an employee taskforce of 6,000 people worldwide, (across 20 different sites, 13 of which are in France), Irene Gosset concludes, “The prospects are really exciting… and we will continue to emphasise the satisfaction of our customers in accordance with the family culture that has always been the cornerstone of our success”.
