Cartondruck inks deal with MPS in attempt to go global

Germany-based Cartondruck has announced the signing of a definitive purchase agreement with Multi Packaging Solutions which it believes will provide strategic growth at an international level.

Headquartered in Oberslum, the packaging firm will be able to add to its portfolio and believes the partnership with US-based MPS will help it to become one of the world’s leading companies for premium packaging.

“This is an exciting milestone in our company’s history,” said Steffen Schnizer, head of marketing and sales at Cartondruck.

“In joining with MPS, we can accelerate the development of the company and offer significant advantages on an international scale. Both companies share a common philosophy of true customer partnership and a commitment to strategic growth.”

Speed up investments and expansion

Moreover, Cartondruck will now be in position to speed up its planned investments and the scope of expansion for its location in Poland will now short-term be at a far greater level than originally planned.

MPS is a US-based company in print, packaging, and labels for the cosmetics, healthcare, media and consumer markets and its agreement with Cartondruck means that Steffen and Marc Schnizer, board members at the German firm, will join the MPS Senior Management Team and continue to have responsibility for the European operations. In addition, they have also become shareholders of MPS.

“Since the foundation of the company in 1969, we have continually invested in innovation and growth to support our customers’ need for premium packaging”, commented Marc Schnizer, head of finance, technology and administration.

“Joining forces with MPS adds significantly to our depth of resources and breadth of experience,” he added.

Commenting on the acquisition, Marc Shore, CEO of MPS stated: “The partnership with Cartondruck is a great fit for MPS and our customers. It accelerates product and technology development for both companies and streamlines manufacturing and logistics for customers with international operations.”
