Screen and fragrance icon Elizabeth Taylor dies

Oscar-winning actress Elizabeth Taylor has passed away aged 79. She had a history of ill health and was being treated for congestive heart failure.

Besides Dame Elizabeth's vast film repertoire including Cleopatra and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, she also built a fragrance empire for over 20 years with Elizabeth Arden, and her fragrance, White Diamonds, has been a best seller since its introduction in 1991.

Arden CEO, E. Scott Beattie said: "It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Elizabeth Taylor, the legendary actress, activist and businesswoman.”

“As her business partner in the fragrance industry, we have held her in the highest esteem and have had tremendous respect for her extraordinary compassion, creativity and business acumen. Our best tribute to Elizabeth Taylor will be to continue the legacy of the brands she created and loved so much. She will be deeply missed.”
