Kao offers help to earthquake affected areas

Japanese cosmetics company Kao has provided its support to the areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami in northeastern Japan, supplying the areas with necessary daily products.

The Tokyo-headquartered firm is working in cooperation with national and local governments to supply a range of sanitary towels, diapers, soaps and toothpaste to these areas.

Shipping began on March 20 and the company says it is keeping in contact with local relief supply teams of Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures to convey the products.

Kao also says it continues to offer additional support by providing required materials in sufficient quantities in cooperation with related public administrations and industrial organisations, while carefully monitoring the ongoing situation.

The 9.0 magnitude earthquake occurred on March 11, 2011 triggering a tsunami that travelled up to 10 km in land, destroying buildings and landscape.
