Dow Corning’s resin technology to feature at in-cosmetics Asia
The cosmetics company claims its resin blend offers long-lasting, comfortable wear for colour cosmetics.
‘Long-lasting’ benefits of flake resin
The Dow Corning MQ-1640 flake resin is a blend of two silicone resins in flake form that creates a breathable, water repellent film, which Dow Corning states will set a new standard in long-lasting benefits.
According to the company, in colour cosmetics, the new resin will help to enhance colour intensity and shine, and can potentially improve SPF in sunscreens.
Two new product solutions to be showcased
In addition to the new flake resin, Dow Corning will also showcase two product solutions: a customer emulsifier and a silicone organic elastomer blend.
The cosmetics company will demonstrate a range of its new silicone formulations on the stand, showing formulators how built-in organic compatibility makes it easier to create products with a distinct powdery feel, unique to silicone elastomers.
Dow Corning’s silicone emulsifier technology will reportedly provide options for creating stable water-in-oil and water-in-silicone emulsions.
The silicone organic elastomer blends, developed for use in skin, sun, and colour cosmetic products, maintain the distinctive feel of traditional silicone elastomer blends while offering enhanced compatibility with organic materials and actives.
Benefits of the formulation include texture, transfer resistance, colour intensity, gloss and coverage, wash-off resistance and ease of formulation, the company says.
The in-cosmetics Asia event takes place November 2 - 4, 2010, at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Bangkok, Thailand.
