The packaging was supplied by Scotland-based papermaker Tullis Russell, which said that recycled paper was chosen by Lancôme in order to emphasise the natural ingredients in the product.
Aroma Blue body treatment fragrance contains a combination of minerals; including magnesium which the company claims energizes skin and strengthens its natural defense barrier, and potassium to rehydrate the skin.
Recycled packaging
Trucard 1 gloss recycled paperboard with a weight of 350gsm was chosen for the packaging. According to Tullis Russell, the paperboard is FSC accredited and contains 50 per cent post consumer de-inked recycled fibre.
Trucard 1 gloss recycled is a solid bleached sulphate (SBS) board that according to the company has an ‘outstanding level’ of whiteness and brightness and a smooth glossy printing surface.
It is particularly suitable for creating packaging for products that require a premium look, such as cosmetics and perfumes, the company said.
“L’Oréal value the fact that the full trucard range is always FSC accredited and we are delighted that, like a growing number of customers around the world, they have now taken the decision to use one of our recycled versions for this new launch,” said Tullis Russell sales and marketing director Malcolm Sinclair.
The packaging sports the familiar Lacome flower logo in blue, which complements the blue hue of the bottle.
Established relationship with Tullis Russell
Tullis Russell has previously worked with L’Oreal supplying paperboard packaging from the Trucard range for several of its products across Europe.
In the past, L’Oreal has opted for the company’s recently launched uncoated grade, Trucard 0, and Trucard ice, a high gloss board.
“With these exciting new options, available in both coated and uncoated, we are able to offer printers and brand holders the chance to choose a genuine recycled content carton board while preserving the look, printability and technical performance they need for a premium line like Lancôme.” Sinclair added.
