HPCI Congress set to expand for next year

The first HPCI Congress, held in Istanbul in Turkey, has been declared a success by its organisers, who are now planning a bigger event for next year.

The event aimed to serve players in the personal care and home care industries in both the Eurasian and Middle Eastern markets and was organised in conjunction with the German chemist association SOFW and the Turkish Society of Cosmetics Scientists (TCOS).

The event lasted over two days, June 9 – 10, and was held at WOW Convention Center, in downtown Istanbul, a venue that helped attract an attendance of 681 for the conference programme and exhibition.

Of the total attendees, 518 were registered visitors from 22 countries who attended over the course of the two days, while 135 were registered for the conference programme and 101 were registered as representing specific companies.

Conference as major focus of the event

The conference segment was a major focus of the event, with seven local and 14 international speakers giving presentations that focused on scientific innovations and developments in the areas of formulation and raw materials.

On the exhibition side, the registered companies showcased their latest innovations in raw materials, machinery and services to formulators and distributors.

According to the organisers, feedback from the exhibitors determined that they were ‘very satisfied’ with both the numbers and quality of visitors to their stands.

Second HPCI Congress gets go ahead

HPCI event director Robert Fischer declared that on the back of the success of the first ever Congress for the Middle Eastern and Eurasian countries, the second HCPI Congress has already been given the go ahead.

“We are confident this event is going to be ‘the meeting place’ of the home and personal care industries for these regions in the future,” Fisher said.

The organisers say that most of the 2010 exhibitors have already re-confirmed their attendance for next year’s event, to be held in the same location, June 1-2, 2011, while the 2011 is also expected to be bigger in size.
