Cosmetic Business 2010 claims to have had its most successful event yet

Having closed its doors on June 18, organisors of Cosmetic Business 2010 claimed that the event attracted 20 per cent more trade visitors than the previous year.

This year is the seventh annual show and is claimed to be the only trade event of its kind in Germany, serving to connect the country’s personal care businesses with companies all over the world, as well as helping international traders do likewise.

Held in Munich, the event attracted visitors from over 40 countries, including the Middle East, Asia, Russia and Brazil, but the majority of visitors were from Germany and elsewhere in Europe.

This year the visitor list featured a wide spectrum of companies, including the biggest names in the business, such as L’Oreal, Wella and Avon, together with many of the small-to-medium sized players.

Exhibitors came from across all industry segments, including private label, product development, all aspects of packaging, ingredients, research and development, design and logistics.

Unique show in Germany

“This mix makes Cosmetic Business a unique meeting place in Germany – where else can you find this combination : top suppliers from all areas meet top customers of all sizes,” said Franck Richter, proprietor of the event.

Richter also remarked that attendance at the event was strong, despite it coinciding with the start of the World Cup football programme in South Africa.

All-encompassing event

This year one of the main aims was to make it as all-encompassing as possible, rather than focusing on a specific theme at the risk of ignoring other key industry trends, said the organisers.

This fact was particularly reflected in the event’s lecture programme, which covered a broad spectrum of industry trends and issues.

Next year’s event will again be held at the M.O.C Veranstaltungscenter in Munich, from June 9 – 10, 2011.

“The numerous queries before and during the fair show that in 2011 we will need the last remaining exhibition space available and that the waiting list looks set to start up at the end of this year,” said Richter.
