OekaBeauty’s new applicators designed to boost lip volume

The cosmetic packaging business segment of Germany-based OekaMetall launched three new lip gloss applicators and a mascara brush at the recent Luxe Pack trade show held in New York.

Made from a soft thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), ‘Boost-your-lips’ is based on the doe foot applicator shape but is designed with an indentation in the centre to work like a reservoir.

According to OekaBeauty’s Frank Bierkandt, this allows more product transportation and optimizes applic

ation, helping to give the effect of increased lip volume.

OekaBeauty has also released a scaled up version of the new product – ‘Double-boost-your-lips’ which has an even larger reservoir to transport more product and add more bulk.

“We would suggest the ‘double-boost-your-lips’ for formulations with a higher viscosity or for a more covering rather than transparent effect,”​ he told CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com.

The third of the new lip applicators is a soft touch spatula-type applicator that the company says is suited to a wide variety of formulations. A rounded tip can help give greater definition, it claimed.

Shaped mascara brush ​

OekaBeauty’s new mascara brush has also been designed to improve the application of product to the lashes with shorter bristles in the centre than at the edges. This helps lashes reach the core of the brush where there is more product, explained Bierkandt.

For combing and reworking, less bulk is needed which makes the longer bristles at the tips of the brush useful, he added.
