The show, which is open to trade visitors with authorization only, will feature approximately 1,200 exhibitors and brands and is expected to attract around 50, 000 visitors, according to the organizers.
Exhibitors include the companies Dr Hauschka, Piz Buin and Cosmoderm.
The Meeting Point in Hall 10 is the focal point for those in the cosmetics sector, comprising presentations of the latest products and treatments and panel discussions of current themes in the field of beauty.
Workshops focusing on skin and skincare
Also part of this specialist programme (in German only), is a series of 90-minute workshops focusing on ‘the skin and perfect skincare’.
Areas discussed include the identification of different skin types based on recent research findings, the importance of the skin’s barrier function and test procedures for cosmetics.
27 March will see Dr Werner Voss, dermatology, allergy and environmental medicine specialist and Prof Michael Schmidt, a biochemist and skin physiologist, use current findings from barrier research to provide insights in the way the skin works, which will open up new possibilities for cosmetics treatments.
In a panel discussion held the following day entitled ‘Modern Test Procedures for Cosmetics’, they will present new scientific test procedures for cosmetics, and discuss the validity and content of product claims.
Perfume summit to run alongside the show
Running alongside Beauty International is the Global Art of Perfumes Summit, an event uniting fragrance manufacturers, distributors and retailers which aims to ‘de-trivialise perfume and give it back its myth and glamour’.
