Washington-based Caleco is in the process of further developing the Lamiri hair care brands alongside the Lamiri skin care brands, products that are all derived from the company’s proprietary formulation technology called Liver Health Formula.
The skin care range will be developed around a gel and a crème, while the hair care range will be developed around a shampoo, conditioner and hair tonic.
Research into dermatological benefits
Caleco says that it is concentrating its efforts on further clinical research to determine whether the Liver Health Formula has specific dermatological health benefits for hair and skin care products, a factor that could prove a valuable tool to market the products further.
Currently the intellectual property for the Liver Health Formula covers patent applications in the United States and Canada, together with Europe, where it has four European Drug Master file applications.
The company has also developed energy drinks and food supplements, the latter also being marketed under the Lamiri brand name.
CPM recruited to develop the brands further
CPM has been recruited in its capacity as industry consultant to assist in the formulation, development and commercialisation of the product range, a commission that will entail a five-point plan.
The plan will require CPM to produce samples for each to the five Lamiri products, a feasibility study, together with comprehensive packaging design proposals and an advertising plan for both the skin care and hair care ranges.
Likewise, CPM will also assist in the selection of a contract manufacturer to produce the two ranges and ensure that all guidelines are met, as well as assisting in the task of preparing and filing product dossiers.
