Celebrity fragrances account for one of the largest shares of global fragrance sales, but the wrong sort of publicity can lead shoppers to ignore certain fragrances in favour of those sponsored by stars with more favourable images.
UK-based online retailer feelunique.com revealed that the Britney Spears has come back from the brink, following a very public breakdown last year, to secure a top-selling 34 per cent of the retailer's online sales over the past year, with her fragrance Curious.
On the other hand Katie Price, formerly known as Jordan, managed to secure just 0.37 per cent of the total online fragrance sales over the past year with her fragrance Stunning, a result that is likely to have been impacted by her recent split from husband Peter Andre.
The online retailer currently markets 17 celebrity fragrance, noting that other winners included the Sarah Jessica Parker fragrance, with 16 per cent of sales and Jade Goody, with 14 per cent of sales.
