Make-up ingredient highlights from in-cosmetics
Sensient Cosmetic Technologies launched a new black pigment that it believes is the blackest pigment available made without nanoparticles.
Blacker than black
The company describes Unipure Triple Black LC990 as “a purer-deeper-stronger E172 black iron oxide offering superior purity and colour.”
Spokesperson Luis Pereira said the iron oxide pigment provides an alternative for formulators looking to achieve a deep black without resorting to nanotechnology.
Alongside the black pigment Sensient Cosmetic Technologies presented its new white titanium dioxide pigment Unipure White LC987. Pereira said the pigment is more stable in formulations than previous versions.
Anti-wrinkle eye cream shadow
One of the standout products on display at the show was the new Tagra “Magic”, an anti-wrinkle eye cream shadow formulation with stable actives, colour and fragrances.
Tagra created the three-in-one formulation to demonstrate the power of its RND (Release on Demand) microencapsulated technology, which protects and stabilizes active ingredients.
As well as illustrating the potential of the technology, Tagra chose in-cosmetics to add several new colours, Red7, Violet and Mica, to its TagraCap range.
Tagra said these pigments can be conveniently added to make-up products to fine tune the colouring and even create products that are one colour in storage and another once applied.
New emulsion for liquid foundations
Other new make-up products at in-cosmetics came from Italian distributor and manufacturer Prodotti Gianni.
The company presented a new silicon-based, ready-to-use emulsion at the show for high quality liquid foundations. Available in four basic colours, Prodotti Gianni said Izzy Colour can be simply mixed and stirred into formulations to save time and money during the production process.
