Working to the theme ‘Value and Values In Today’s Cosmetics Industry’, the assembly’s full programme will include a comprehensive scientific forum, together with a general assembly session that will address issues such as consumer demand and future changes.
The programme will start on Wednesday, 27 May with a joint lunch for active association and corporate members and a consultive forum in the afternoon, followed by a buffet dinner.
Day two of the programme will feature a board of directors meeting in the morning, which will be run concurrently with the all-day scientific forum.
Cosmetics Directive implementation
The forum will focus on the recast of the Cosmetics Directive and its implementation, together with presentations on Good Manufacturing Practices, which will be given by leading figures from both industry and those involved in regulation.
The final day, Friday 29 May, will be a full programme devoted to the general assembly, and will include three key presentations in the morning, followed by a statutory session in the afternoon for members.
The presentations will begin with Prof Christian Bllumelhuber, assistant director of the Center on Global Brand Leadership, who will discuss Responding to Consumer Demand.
Regulation and changes it will bring
The second presentation is entitled Future Changes and will be given by Romania Jordan Cizelj, a Member of the European Parliament, who will throw some light on how future regulation will change the way the industry operates.
Wrapping up the morning general assembly session, Dr Horst Wenck, chair of Strategic Project Team Alternatives to Animal Testing, who will discuss the latest research activities to ensure safety testing of cosmetic ingredients without the use of animals.
