Cosmoprof seminar digs into private label potential

Cosmoprof North America will be hosting a seminar on private label cosmetics for decision makers looking for a recession resistant business model.

The organizers said for those businesses contemplating a move into private label “now is the perfect time”, because many consumers are eager to reduce their spending.

To provide useful information and guidance for those interested in entering the private label world, Cosmoprof has organized “So you want to create your own private label?”

The seminar, developed in partnership with Private Label Magazine, is scheduled to take place on July 20 at the Cosmoprof North America trade show in Las Vegas.

The three main topics to be covered in the seminar will be packaging, formulation and marketing.

Seminar covers packaging, formulation and marketing

John Rebecchi, senior vice president of marketing and new business development at Disc Graphics, will discuss how to choose between generic stock packaging and custom design packaging. He will also review cost effective ways of personalizing and embellishing stock packaging.

Rebecchi has worked in the packaging industry for over 25 years and regularly travels to speak with companies on how to analyze their current packaging and develop eco-friendly alternatives.

Then Pamela Jo Busiek, co-owner of CBI Laboratories, will provide an overview of how to create a private label product for salons, spas and small retailers from start to finish.

She will also discuss what a prospective client should look at when evaluating a private label manufacturer.

Finally, Shannon Nelson from Pierce Mattie Public Relations will discuss how to create brand awareness through partnership and through viral marketing on a budget.
