Shiseido's fragrance subsidiary launches new designer perfume

Beaute Prestige International (BPI) is launching the latest fragrance offering from fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez this spring.

The company will be hoping the fragrance meets with the same success as the original Narciso Rodriguez for her, which one the Fragrance Foundation FiFi awards in 2004.

Duality of women

The new fragrance for women, ‘essence’, promises to explore the duality of a woman’s nature – the intense and the ethereal, the simple and the complex.

The product is the third scent the fashion designer will launch in collaboration with BPI, fragrance division of Japanese cosmetics Shiseido, joining Narciso Rodriguez for her and Naarciso Rodriguez for him.

Designed by Alberto Morillas from Swiss fragrance company Firmenich, the fragrance is based on musk, with notes of rose petals, iris and amber, according to the company.

Continuing the feminine theme the bottle has been designed with a shaped mirrored core to allude to the female form.

The product’s primary launch will be in mid March in Saks Fifth Avenue stores, New York, and will be supported by an advertising campaign featuring model Catherine MacNeil.

Other fragrances in the Shiseido subsidiary’s portfolio include perfumes from fellow designers Issey Miyake and Jean Paul Gaultier.
