The France-based company says that its new high performance filling and capping machines have been designed to handle a variety of cosmetic formulations, including shampoo, conditioner, nail polish remover, sun tan lotion, make-up and deodorants.
PKB claims that its totally redesigned machines now incorporate the companies concept for filling on an intermittent basis, together with linear motors and new mechatronic components.

The inclusion of the new technologies allows for greater versatility, added compactness to reduce all-important floor space, easy format changeover, ergonomic design, accuracy of dosing, enhanced speed and excellent price to quality ration – the company claims
As the design for the new machines is based on servodrive technology, for which the company is currently seeking a worldwide patent, this also allows for changeovers to be performed with the optimum of ease, according to PKB.
Other functionality includes bottleneck re-centering, before preclosure of the cosmetics pumps, caps and overcaps, in turn allowing for precise capping that minimizes the risk of spillage.
Servodrive adds flexibilit
Likewise the servodrive also includes dip-tube straightening and cosmetics pump preclosure as well a screw-capping with torque control for the application of pumps and overcaps in all types of combinations.
The equipment also comes with a long list of options for tailor-made requirements, including a variety of dust removers, sterilization in place, integrated labelling solutions, filling of two-phase products and various view systems aimed at enhancing quality control.
The equipment is being made available on a global basis, and likewise PKB says that there is a specifically designed UL version adapted to the requirements of manufacturers in North America.
