Le Glass Vallée is based in the Bresle Valley, 150km North of Paris, and represents the interests of glass manufacturers of flacons, produced primarily for the fine fragrance and perfume industry. The partnership is an extension of an initial collaboration of several months, whereby the two bodies have identified several areas where mutually beneficial synergies can be forged. The Cosmetics Valley, which represents some of the biggest names in the French cosmetics and personal care industry, is based in Eure region, southwest of France and extends into three different French regions. The partnership will mean that Cosmetics Valley will now extend its geographic and industry reach by housing an organisation that is estimated to account for 80 per cent of the world's total production of glass-made fragrance bottles. The formal partnership was signed at the end of last week, between Valèrie Tellier, president of the Glass Vallée and Alban Muller, president of the Cosmetics Valley. The agreement has been signed with the intent of following a common philosophy that focuses on 'luxury products made in France'. In particular the partnership will focus on:
- Combining the resources of the two organisations for shows and other industry events
- Work exchange visits between the two groups
- A reciprocal working exchange between the groups with respect to research and development
- The possibility that Cosmetics Valley R&D projects will include members of Glass Vallée
- Specific collaborative projects centering on the development of innovative packaging materials.
The two bodies say they will be jointly exhibiting at the forthcoming Congress for Packaging and Beauty, to be held in Louviers, 11 - 12 June.
