Cosmetic packaging design firm sets up in Geneva

Cosmetics and fragrance packaging specialist QSLD Paris has opened up its second affiliate in Geneva, in a move that aims to grow its presence on a global basis.

The new division will be known as QSLD Geneva and strategically places the company closer to some of its key customer base, which includes clients such as Procter & Gamble Prestige, Philip Morris and Diageo, who all have headquarters in the Swiss city.

"QSLD Geneva is a demonstration of our ability to improve our organisation to better serve our client, and very few design firms can offer a similar adaptability," said Christophe Guichard, COO and co-owner of QSLD Group.

Move brings the design team closer to the client Likewise, locating the offices in Geneva also means that the design team can liaise and consult with its clients' creative needs on a day-to-day basis, speeding up the all-important time-to-market process.

"The strategic decision to expand QSLD internationally, and more specifically in Switzerland today - is a clear expression of our wish of being a truly global design firm," said Guichard.

The decision backs up the company's move into the US market four years ago after it opened up its US branch, QSLD New World, based in New York.

That move gave the company a stronger footing in the US market, where it has been able to work directly with big brands such as Perry Ellis, Ann Taylor and Escada fragrance lines.

Focus on luxury fragrance brands The US branch specialises in outer packages and bottles that help luxury brands to reach their target audience.

QSLD has been at the core of the French Luxury scene for more than a decade, designing for Coty, Lacoste, LVMH, Puma, Paco Rabanne and Lancome, amongst others.

One of the company's most significant packaging design contracts of late was the S by Escada fragrance line for Procter & Gamble.

The project marked the next step in the company's involvement with P&G, which has already seen it collaborate on the design behind the latest Lacoste fragrance collection.
