Symrise launches two moisturising ingredients

Symrise has launched two plant-based active ingredients that act as
moisturisers and present alternatives to hydrolyzed proteins
derived from wheat, milk soy and other similar sources.

Hydromoist L and Hydromoist O are gluten-free ingredients obtained via enzymatic hydrolysis of lupine and oat proteins respectively. They act as film formers and can therefore be used in hair conditioners but work also as moisturisers in other hair and skin care products. Symrise stated that they are particularly effective on hair that has suffered stress caused by dying and bleaching. The Germany-based manufacturer of cosmetic ingredients boasted that the new products have an extremely low molecular weight of 2000 Da thanks to the ultrafiltration process. Both ingredients are clear and opaque liquids that are recommended for use at concentrations of between 0.5 and 5 per cent. The launches come weeks after Symrise announced the creation of its own personal care product inventory, which the company claimed to be an industry first. The publication provides an overview of the products on the market. It includes sections on fragrances and their subgroups, and a products section that will focus on hair care and shampoo, deodorant and antiperspirant - which is split into masculine and feminine sections - and body wash and shower gel.
