China Bionanometer is a new company established to combine bio and nanotechnology for the production of a range of consumer products in the cosmetics, traditional Chinese medicine and health foods categories, together with the creation of green pesticides and disinfectants.
In the cosmetics field the company is aiming for a worldwide market, but with lines including skin whitening products, it is clearly focusing on Asian skin types.
The company says that its U-Songo skin care line has been developed using plant extract from Chinese Ganoderma Aloe Barbadensis Millier, which, combined with collagen protein powder analog and polymer materials, forms the basis of a product line consisting of four facial masks.
The first is the Ganoderma Nourishment Facial Mask, followed by Aloe Nourishment Facial Mask, Beer Crystal Jelly Facial Mask and Red Wine Crystal Jelly Facial Mask.
The Chinese Ganoderma in the Ganoderma facial mask is known as 'grass from God'.
The active ingredient in the plants extract that gives it this name, polysaccharide Ganoderma, has been enhanced by using the companies patented biological nanotechnology to improve its delivery capability and in turn its efficacy, allowing it be absorbed quickly by the skin.
Likewise the active ingredients from all the plant extracts in the other products, were all derived using the company's same patented technology.
For the Aloe Barbadensis Miller plant, the Barbaloin active ingredient was also enhanced using the technology, helping to strengthen skin moisture and enhance cell metabolism, while the active ingredients in the beer mask - yeast and vitamin B - where also enhanced to promote skin whitening capabilities.
Meanwhile, the main active ingredients in the red wine mask include the anti-aging and antioxidant properties of polyphenols from grape seeds and resveratrol, found in red wine, which were also enhanced using the same technology with the aim of providing a brighter and healthier looking skin.
The development of the ingredient processes involved in the formulation of the new products has led to the creation of two new patents recognized by the China State Intellectual Property Office - one for a nano powders shaper, the other for a low temperature jet spray drying device.
