Cosmeeting gears up for international market

Cosmeeting will open its doors in North Paris next week. Promising to be a bigger and more international event, the third annual show will include over 400 beauty brands from 28 different countries and the CosmeticsDesign.com team will be there to report on the highlights.

Again based at the Parc des Expositions, Paris-Nord Villpinte, Cosmeeting will cover all product categories, including fragrances, cosmetics, hygiene and skin care. Opening its doors from Monday, September 12, through to September 14, the show will cover 25,000 square metres and will be divided up into different product categories to make it easier to navigate.

These categories will be split into different sections that will include: Le Salon, which will feature perfumes, cosmetics, skin care and make-up; Zoom, which will include niche products and a look into the future world of cosmetics: Bio-Pharma, incorporating organic and natural-origin cosmetics; Lifestyle, covering ambiance fragrances and beauty gift items, and Accessories.

The organisers are heralding the Zoom concept as being a look into the future of the industry. First held in the 2004 show, when it featured just 16 exhibitors, the growing interest in avante garde skin products means that this year the number of exhibitors is reported to have grown to 25.

Cosmeeting organisers say that the products featured under this concept should help to give further credence the show's reputation as 'trailblazer and discoverer of tomorrow's star and emerging products'. Companies featuring products in Zoom will include Sue Devitt Cosmetic et Bodycoffee from the US, Designer's Guild from the UK and Australia's Sentir.

As well as the individual sections, the show will also feature a complete conference programme based on four specific areas: The Market Cycle; The Distribution Cycle; The Regulations Cycle and The Marketing Cycle. Individual presentations under these subject areas will consider the market on geographical, product and manufacturing bases.

Another show highlight will be the Beauty Challenger Awards, which features Zoom exhibitors alongside 40 other outside challengers, hoping to have their products recognised for innovation and design. Results of the competition will be announced at the show on September 13.

Cosmeeting will also combine the Spa & Institut expo as well as the Creative expo, giving a combined show space for all three of over 50,000 square metres. In total 15,000 visitors are expected, of which the organisers say 40 per cent will be international buyers.
